It
We, as a band, read this story and see at least two (2) amazing things: 1. God is revealing Jesus as His son. Awesome. But even cooler than that is this: 2. God, Jesus, and the writer of Mark are all painting a picture of what Jesus would do for us. What he did do for us. And what he does do for us. Jesus took that extremely dirty job of making us clean, and made us cleaner than anything in this world could. In dying on the cross, he cleansed us from all sin, and impurities. But it's not just a one-time deal. It's a constant process -- something that happens every day just as readily as it did 2,000 years ago. Jesus Christ wasn't just a Fuller then. He's a Fuller Still. Get it?
(We will also accept, "our lives are full, but with Jesus, our lives can be fuller still.")
- When/where did you guys meet?
At one time or another, every member of Fuller Still served on a ministry team through the organization Youth Encounter. Often on the same team. Somewhere around his second year, while in East Africa, Justin thought it would be a good idea to play music for a living. So he emailed Graham, they called Gail, and Gail married Josh. That was around 5 years ago, and they're been making music together pretty much ever since, although Fuller Still as we know it formed sometime in the fall of 2003.
- Whoa, whoa. You guys are married?
Not all of us. Gail and Josh are married to each other. Graham and Justin are not married, but Justin is married to his wife Angie. Graham has a lovely girlfriend named Haley of whom the other members of Fuller Still are quite fond.
- What's that robot/angel thing on your t-shirts/stickers/posters?
Good question. The "angelbot" design that we use was conceived by our friend Andrew in California (where they have a movie star for a governor -- crazy!). Go visit Andrew's website at gimetzco.com. We're as confused as you are, so we asked Andrew to explain his ideas behind the design, and here's what we came up with based on what he told us:
The "angelbot" is symbolic of a worker in God's kingdom - someone or something created to serve its creator. No, we don't think that God turns people into robots. We do think that we're given the opportunity to serve God in different ways. One of those ways is by spreading God's message of grace, peace, and hope through our music. This message is embodied in the phone being held by the angelbot, and the phrase at the bottom of the design; "It's for you." Here's hoping that you know that God's love is for you, no matter who you are, or where you are.
The three arrows pointing upward represent the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the triune God who has created us, redeems us, and sustains us.
- So are you guys a Christian band?
Sure, I guess. A lot of other bands have said this better, but . . . while we're Christians, we never decided to be a "Christian band." We write music about whatever is influencing us, so it just so happens that a lot of our songs have to do with our relationships with Jesus. That's more important to us than anything else. You'll also occasionally stumble across songs that have to do with being in love, or other stuff. We like to think that, because we're honest in our songs about stuff that's happening around us, you don't have to be a Christian to appreciate our music. We hope you agree.
- What was it like recording your newest album?
That question would be best answered by reading the recording blogs on our MySpace Blog and traveling back through time to read all about it. We had a lot of fun.
- How can I get you to come to my church/youth event/college/house?
Well, if you're the person in charge of planning concerts around your house, just drop us an email at info@fullerstill.com If you're not, have said person contact us there. Once we're talking, we'll find a way to make our brand of entertainment fit to your event, programatically and financially.
